I think in my personal opinion that these two chapters were the hardest chapter s to read, knowing that at any minute. I still can’t believe that he still went on even after his dad was dying in agony every moment. What surprised me was that he said “it pained me that I could not weep” I was so surprised to hear read this. I could imagine that after all the things he had to live trough after all the agony pain he no longer felt anything. He couldn’t be hurt more than he already was. After ...

To me this two chaper where the two chapter that I like the most becaouse it talks about the ending of the holocoust and how the jews became free only those who survive luckily elie was one of those survivers, I kind feel upset that elie dad did not survive but sometimes I makes me think what happen to his sister and mom?did they ever survive, did he get to see them again in his life or in the holocoust where they killed?well what happen to his dad is really sad to me I couldn’t go to sleep ...

chapter4 In this chapter elie is transfer to a new jail. And he also talks about the daily routine in the concentration camp. I thought chapter 4 was very or a little bit more relaxed then chapters 1-3 it shows that he still hates it but, its less fearsome and and scary then when he arrived there!!!

Chapter5 in this chapter starts at the end of the jewish year , or in elie's mind the last day for jews. Elie and many other jews thought it could be their last day of reckoning. ...

Elie's father dies near the end of the book! I could not believe that, and he was still going on, i would never be able to go on if my support person was no longer woth me. When Elie came to his bunk and his father was no longer there, i dont think he was dead yet i think they just got tired of the "extra weight" and so they took him to the creamatory. This is hard to believe because i could never go on knowing that my father/mother was burned in the creamatory. At least his father ...

Chapter 8 is when elie's father dies. I was so devastated when i first read this. I would have never made it through if my father had died. But I started to feel indifferent because I felt even though he loved his father elie was kind of wanting his father to pass away. Elie felt his father was only a burden holding him back and I can see what he is talking about. I don't think it was selfish of him to think that because he was always worrying about his father and it probly took a lot out of ...

At the eighth chapter i knew it was close to the end of the book so i could have guessed was was goning to happen which was that his father had died. Elie must have been at least a little hurt after all that him and his father been through since the camps had changed thier perspective of how they saw and felt for each other and the family. Elie was not however that sad and he easily forgot about him after he had gone. Why cant people who are bout to die not drink water? Also who did he say was ...

The beginning of chapter 8, something really shocked me. The part that said "Right next to us the high chimney of the crematory oven rose up. It no longer made any impression on us. It scarcely attracted our attention." This part was surprising because how can someone get used to bodies being burned around them? How is someone capable of not noticing or caring about that kind of thing? Well i guess the Jews just worried about keeping themselves alive, they didn't bother with the ones ...

When his father died in chapter eight i was absolutely devistated. I can only imagine how Elie feels. I guess since my dad and i are best friends it just makes me so upset that Elie has to deal with the death of is father. In a way i dont feel very bad though. Elie was being so rude and selfish. He was hoping that his father would die so that he would have less to worry about. Who would do that? Im glad that he felt guilty because not onlny did he think that he wanted his father to pass but he ...

I thought that chapter 8 was pretty sad, because it was all about his father dying. I thought that it was nice how he was taking care of him. Elie was just waiting for his father to die. At one part it seemed like he was glad to not have to take care of his father. I can't imagine going through that if it was my father. It was sad that his father kept asking for water. Elie knew that he shouldn't give it to him, but he did it anyways. I could not believe that Elie just left his father there after ...

To me it’s gotten a lot worst since chapter one it’s really sad i actually makes me angry at the Germans because how could they just cremated someone who is actually alive.
Chapter eight was so extremely sad. Eliezer did everything he could to keep his father alive. It seemed like Buchenwald was a nicer camp than the others that they had been to. This camp gave them hot showers and bread when they needed it; however i dont think that it was right for them not to feed the ill people because they were going to die soon.

I thought that chapters 8 and 9 were really good. It had a pretty good ending for Elie, besides his father dying. I thought it was horrible in chapter 8 when Elie’s father had died. Elie had worked so hard to try to survive because of his father. He didn’t want to leave his father’s side. But when it comes to the opposite end, Elie’s father didn’t try to hold up. He wasn’t thinking of Elie at all, he was thinking of himself, dying. I think he was actually looking forward to dying ...

I LIKED THESE TWO CHAPTERS, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THEY WERE SHORT. ONE OFF THE PASSAGES IN CHAPTER SIX THAT REALLY CAUGHT MY ATTENTION WAS WHEN ELIE’S FRIEND ZALMAN HAD THAT CRAMP. I FELT REALLY BAD FOR HIM BECAUSE I KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO HAVE A CRAMP AND YOU REALLY JUST CANT RUN ANYMORE. ELIE SHOWED THAT HE REALLY CARED FOR ZALMAN BECAUSE HE KEPT PUSHONG AND PUSHING HIM TO KEEP RUNNING. I DON’T THINK I COULDVE HANDLE ALL THAT RUNNING.
I like these two chapters especially chapter 9 because it talks about how the Holocaust ended and how the Jews became free. I wish it would tell us about Elies mom and sister, I wonder what happened to them through the Holocaust, did they survive, and if so how long? I couldn't imagine going to bed one night knowing my dad was dying and waking up in the morning and him not being there. I think it is horrible that Elie didn't even get to tell his father bye of that he loved him. I don't understand ...

HE WOULD TELL PEOPLE NOT TO GIVE UP KEEP GOING. BUT I GUESS HIS WORDS DID'NT MEAN ANYTHING TO THOSE WHO WERE TIRED WHEN THEY WAS RUNNING. THE MAIN FOCUS WAS HIS FATHER.
I feel bad that they had to run in the snow. Elie was already hurt, and they were all so weak. I have never had to experience starvation, or over exhaustion for that matter. A lot of us don't really realize how fortunate we are to not have to experience things like that. It made me really sad that so many people just fell asleep and never woke up, they didn't even get a burial or anything. They were just tossed to the side like they were worthless.

Chapters 6 and 7 were easier for me read. I thought that they were less violent than the other chapters. I thought that in chapter 6, it was hard for the men to keep running like they did. They ran for more than 42 miles straight. I could see how hard it was on them, especially because it was snowing hard and all of the people were weak. They didn’t get any food or any water for 3 days. No food or water for three days and it was a crazy blizzard out there. I would have given up on running about miles into it. It was kind of sad when Rabbi was looking for his son and then to here that rabbi's son didnt want to be with him for his own safety was harsh.

It was all about how Elie and his father were being pushed and forced to run for ever like all day. Because it said that by the end of the day they ran forty-two miles by the end of the day.
Chapter six started off with something I remembered about the Holocaust. Where the Nazi army marched off several camps to either to their death (or on the brink of) or to a different camp. These marches were mostly called death marches after the war. Elie was on the brink of desperation to survive.

We were masters of nature, masters of the world. We had forgotten everything everything-death, fatigue, our natural needs. Stronger than cold or hunger, stronger than the shots and the desire ...

These two chapters were very big parts of the book because it gave the readers good visuals of what was being done to the prisoners and how they were being treated. It was more shocking then anything that a person would actually do something that bad and the prisoners didn't even do anything to them. It was hard picturing people being hung and prisoners being beat to death. I would be afraid for my life in those situations. I would hate to be asleep and hear gun shots all night long knowing that people are on the way to kill me. When they said that Buna was a good camp, it gave me hope that they would have it a little easier and that they might have gotten up enough strength to live, or possibly escape. it kind of scared me when they were talking about the gold teeth. They pull out gold crown that people need. They don’t even think twice about it, and that they possibly can’t eat comfortably. They did something else that bothers me greatly. They hung people in front of all the prisoners, and then make them walk around them. Also that boy, when his chair tipped he was still alive and suffered. That is so unimaginable. ...

I think that these two chapters were the most interesting so far. I honestly don't think I could deal with how they were treated, and the awful things that happened. I can't believe that they would take their gold crowns and fillings. That's pretty ridiculous and cruel, considering those people weren't real dentists and they didn't have the proper equipment. I don't even like the dentist that I go to, with all the technology and shots to make you numb. Going through a procedure with no medication ...

Chapter four was really hard for me to read because Elie was being beaten because he was walking around and caught Idek having an affair with another lady. I personally dont think that it was Elie's fault because if Idek was doing the right thing then he would have never been caught red handed. It was also hard to read because of how they were hanging prisoners who had barely even done any harm. The prisoners were only trying to do what they need to do to survive. When Buna was being bombed i ...

The thing that stuck out the most to me in these chapters was when they made the "selection". If i was brought into the concentration camps with my mom, i could not bear to be separated and the fact of not knowing weather or not she was going to make it through the selection would just be absolutely unbearable! When Elie had to get his foot worked on, i felt really bad because its the nazis fault this was brought upon them; Elie should not have to suffer for there actions. There was ...

These two chapters were very hard to read. Some of the stuff in these chapters confused me. One thing that got to me was reading about how bad they were treated. It was terrible how they were treated. That one time Elie got beaten so bad that he was bleeding. I cant gbelieve a grown man could beat up a little kid who is two times smaller than him. And that was the last time he was beaten either. Elie was being nosy one day he didnt have work and ventured off and saw Kapo with a young girl in ...
