CHAPTERS 6&7

I LIKED THESE TWO CHAPTERS, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THEY WERE SHORT. What a Face ONE OFF THE PASSAGES IN CHAPTER SIX THAT REALLY CAUGHT MY ATTENTION WAS WHEN ELIE’S FRIEND ZALMAN HAD THAT CRAMP. I FELT REALLY BAD FOR HIM BECAUSE I KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO HAVE A CRAMP AND YOU REALLY JUST CANT RUN ANYMORE. ELIE SHOWED THAT HE REALLY CARED FOR ZALMAN BECAUSE HE KEPT PUSHONG AND PUSHING HIM TO KEEP RUNNING. I DON’T THINK I COULDVE HANDLE ALL THAT RUNNING. silent I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE STOPED AND GAVE UP JUST LIKE ZALMAN. ESPECIALLY IF I HAD TO RUN AS MUCH AS THEY HAD TO, NONSTOP. ELIE HAD A VERY POWERFUL AND STRONG MIND. EVER THOUGH HE KNEW THAT THEY WER’NT GOING TO BE STOPPING SOON HE KEPT SAYING TO HIS SELF…. “DON’T THINK. DON’T STOP. RUN.” AND THAT KEPT HIM FROM NOT STOPPING AND GETTING TRAMPLED LIKE HIS FRIEND AND END UP DYING. ONE OF MY FAVORITE QUOTES IN THIS CHAPTER WAS “DEATH WRAPPED AROUND ME TILL I WAS DYING OF IT. IT STUCK TO ME. I FELT THAT I COULD TOUCH IT.” THIS WAS A POWERFUL QUOTE TO ME. I DON’T KNOW WHY IT STUCK OUT TO ME AS MUCH AS IT DID, BUT IT REALLY MADE ME THINK. LIKE WOW! FOR ELIE TO THINK ABOUT DEATH IN SUCH A WAY WAS AS IF HE FELT HIS SELF ALREADY DYING, AND I WONDER HOW THAT REALLY FELT TO HIM? ANOTHER QUOTE THAT STUCK OUT TO ME, “STRONGER THAN COLD OR HUNGER, STRONGER THAN THE SHOTS AND THE DESIRE TO DIE, CONDEMNED AND WANDERING, MERE NUMBERS, WE WERE THE ONLY MEN ON EARTH.” THIS QUOTE MADE ME THINK THAT ELIE THOUGHT HIM AND HIS FATHER WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE ON EARTH BECAUSE OF WHAT SO MUCH WORK HIM AND HIS FATHER HAD TO DO. AS IF ALL OF THE PRESSURE WAS JUST ON THEM. BUT IF I WAS IN HIS SITUATION, I WOULD PROBABLY FEEL LIKE THAT ALSO.

I like how you said that Elie was a strong minded person. I totally believe that aloes. But I also agree with you when ever you say that you feel bad for Elie because his best friend and at his concentration camp died. He died by being trampled to death by the following Jews that were running behind them. But it all happened because he got a stomach cramp and he could not go on any longer. But that was really sad. I also like how you refer back to a lot of quotes from the book. But I like you writing thing. GOOD JOB! ! !

I AGREE ONAHJA ABOUT ELIE'S FRIEND ZALMAN. IT WAS SAD BECAUSE ELIE SAID HE NEVER GOT TO SEE HIM AGAIN BECAUSE HE GOT STAMPEDED BY THE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE. ZALMAN'S FATHER CAME TO ELIE AND HIS FATHER TO ASK THEN IF HE HAD SEEN HIS SON BUT ELIE SAID THAT HE HAD NOTICED THAT HE WAS IN FRONT OF HIS DAD AND MAYBE HE DID'NT WANT TO BE WITH HIS FATHER NO MORE MAYBE HE WANTED TO DIE. ALSO ELIE DID HAVE A STRONG MIND HE SHOWED ALOT OF COURAGE AND DETERMINATION. ALL THE ENCOURAGEMENT HE GAVE TO OTHERS I THINK MADE HIM AND BETTER AND NOT WANTING TO GIVE UP. ALL THE RUNNING THEY DID IM PRETTY SURE THAT I WOULD'NT BE ABLE TO DO IT.
